Padua Shines at State National History Day Competition
On April 5, Padua students competed in the Delaware State National History Day contest at Stanton Middle School, earning top honors across multiple categories. The name of each student's project is in parenthesis.
Individual Papers:
1st – Sophia Cataldi '26 (Japanese-American Internment: How, Why, and Was It Legal?)
2nd – Lilly Menzies '26 (Intervention, Insurrection, and Independence: The Hungarian Revolution of 1956 and the Struggle for Sovereignty)
3rd – Moira Carlin '26 (Horrors and Human Experimentation: Biological Warfare in Japan during World War II)
Individual Documentary:
3rd: Caitlin Small '26 (Westward Expansion Through the Eyes of the Cherokees)
Individual Exhibit:
3rd: Leah Judy '26 (The Self-Imposed Responsibilities of the Chernobyl Workers and Innocent Citizens)
Group Exhibit:
2nd: Elena Sangemino '26 & Kasey Nwokobia '26 (The Rights & Responsibilities of the American Academy of Pediatrics)
1st and 2nd place finishers in each category qualify for the National Contest, held June 8–12, 2025, at the University of Maryland, College Park.
