Academic Pathways at Padua

Padua Academy offers four unique Academic Pathways that allows students to pursue elective courses that align with their talents, passions, and career interests in high school, providing the opportunity to showcase a unique depth and breadth of knowledge in a specific field.

  • What is the requirement of an Academic Pathway?

    Each Academic Pathway includes required and elective courses at College Prep, Honors, and AP levels. Completion of a Pathway requires 6.5 credits over four years and submission of a Senior year written reflection synthesizing the student's learning in the Pathway. 

    Efforts will be made to ensure students can enroll in their desired courses, though flexibility may be needed due to scheduling, availability, or enrollment limits. Pathways and course offerings are reviewed annually by Departments to ensure alignment with the Academic Pathways program.
  • How do you enroll in Academic Pathways?

    To enroll, students submit an Academic Pathway Intent form.

    More specific questions about the Academic Pathways can be answered each student's School and College Counselor.
  • How are students in an Academic Pathway recognized?

    Students who complete an Academic Pathway will receive recognition at graduation with the designated cords and a notation on their final transcript.

    The Creative Connections Academic Pathway focuses on using multiple mediums to convey a message as well as communicate ideas and stories.  Course work includes the Fine Arts, Media, Communication and Graphic Design.  Brown is the academic color representing Fine Arts and Crimson represents Media and Communication.

    The Global Perspectives Academic Pathway focuses on the understanding and respect for cultures, ideas, and the inherent dignity of all people.  Course work includes the Political Sciences, Public Service, Government and Social Ethics.  Teal or Peacock Blue is the academic color representing Government and Public Service while Navy Blue represents Social Ethics and the Political Sciences.
