More Ways to Give

List of 6 items.

  • Checks

Checks made payable to Padua Academy should be sent to:

    Advancement Office
    Padua Academy
    905 North Broom Street
    Wilmington, DE 19806

Please include your contact information and affiliation with Padua. If the gift is intended for any purpose other than the Annual Fund, please indicate that in the memo line of the check.
  • Donor-Advised Funds

A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is like a charitable investment account for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations you care about. You can advise the managing agency of your DAF to direct grants to Padua Academy now or over time.
  • Bequests

We are honored when individuals choose to include Padua in their estate plans.  While no paperwork is required to include a bequest to Padua Academy in your will, we strongly recommend that donors complete the Philanthropic Letter of Intent found here.  By completing this form, we are able to celebrate your membership in Padua’s 1954 Legacy Society, and most importantly, we are able to honor your desired designation.
  • Matching Gifts

Many employers facilitate an employee giving program or corporate matching initiative.  It’s a great way to increase the impact of your gift!  Your HR office can often answer questions about your employer’s matching programs.  If you need any additional documentation from our Development Office, we are happy to provide it.
  • Endowed Funds

We are proud to honor individuals through endowed funds.  With an initial gift of $10,000 or more, a named Fund can be established to honor an individual, graduating class, etc.  These Funds are subaccounts of Padua Academy’s Endowment, and are set up to award the growth on the account in perpetuity.  The Fund’s awards can be set up based on the donor’s designation – our recommendation is towards student scholarships.
  • Gifts of Securities

Making a gift to Padua Academy of appreciated securities (stocks, mutual fund shares or other appreciated assets) can be a great tax-efficient method to support Padua. Appreciated securities can cost you money if you sell them. You will owe capital gains tax on the appreciated value. In most instances, you can take a tax deduction for the full market value of the gift and avoid any capital gains tax. Download the Padua Giving Securities Guide here.

Padua Academy Annual Fund
The Padua Academy Annual Fund serves our areas of greatest need.  Thanks to the support of our Annual Fund donors, Padua is able to offer robust academics and extracurriculars, with the support of exceptional staff, to students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.

Father Roberto Scholarship Fund
Established in memory of Father Roberto Balducelli at his passing in 2013, the Father Roberto Scholarship Fund supports four-year scholarships for students demonstrating high potential and significant financial need.

Padua Academy Endowment
The Padua Academy Endowment was established in the early 1990s by the visionary leaders of Padua Academy at that time.  As these prescient leaders recognized at the time: “The only way to secure the future for Padua Academy and to guarantee admission to qualified students with limited resources is to establish an endowment–the interest of which would be used to provide financial assistance.”  Thirty years later, our Endowment offers tuition assistance to families in need, and with its growth, so will our ability to provide for even more students.  A gift to the Endowment can be directed to the Padua Academy Foundation, or to Padua Academy with “Endowment” in the memo line.

Tribute Gifts

Often, Padua Academy's donors choose to give their gift as a tribute to a loved one.  Some choose to honor a living student, alumna, or family member.  Others choose to memorialize a deceased loved one.  A gift of any amount may be designated as an "in honor" or "in memoriam" gift. Below are all the tribute gifts from the 2023-2024 fiscal year.
