Opening Liturgy

Today, we kicked off the 2024-2025 school year with our Opening Liturgy at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, uniting as one Padua community in prayer and reflection. The church was filled with the sounds of our music ministry leading us in favorites like “10,000 Reasons,” “Oceans,” and “We Are One Body.”

Father Kumar’s homily inspired us to let our light shine, dispel darkness and fear, seek wisdom, and be courageous—reminding us why we’re here at Padua. Before our Alma Mater, we sang our Diocesan theme song “Walk by Faith,” with the lyrics reminding us that “the darker the night, the brighter the light that shines, you shine.”

We appreciate Karen Duppel, Director of Campus Ministry, for organizing the Mass and our music ministry, and Father Vincent Kumar, OSFS for making this Opening Liturgy memorable.  We officially welcomed Father Kumar into our community and presented him with a gift from Padua Academy.
